This must be the longest title I've ever seen in my anime list. I don't see the point in making it so long though. I only remember Ano Hana and I bet everyone who watched it probably don't remember as well. I wonder if I would have this problem if I knew Nihonggo?
Jinta is not so happy with having Menma's ghost following him around the house especially when he was on his way to becoming a hikikomori. He doesn't hate her but she reminds him of the tragic events that happened before. Eventually, he goes out to seek his friends' help to carry out Menma's wish. Apparently, everyone felt guilty about her death and had problems moving on. It might seem like each of them were tormented by guilt but it looked more like they just failed dealing with their personal issues.
Everything was predictable but I wouldn't say boring. There were a lot of moments when I wondered why Jinta never pushed proving Menma's ghost's existence when they can obviously feel her when she hugged them. As a consequence, Jinta had to suffer being beaten up and called loony. It's kind of irritating when they make these kinds of scenarios when the character just had to play martyr for everyone's sake. In this case, it wasn't even for anyone's interest.
Most of the plus points for this show comes from the art and music. It is definitely entertaining but I wouldn't want to see them making a live-action version of this. I can imagine how bad they'll do Anjou's scenes while making her speech among the group. They make horrible monologues in live drama and they don't seem to realize that it wouldn't have the same impact as the anime if they just do it exactly as the "drawings" did.
It's a cute anime but it made me sad so it's a 6.5/10 .
